Our Story

We are now a fully autonomous (independent), elder-led, congregational church! What does this mean? Over the last year, the logistics of becoming a church seemed to be a daunting task but we didn’t want to skip any steps to what we believe is the biblical model for a healthy church. Let me fill in some details.

First, people don’t just go start a church without first being recognized as called and qualified by an already established and healthy church. This started in October 2023, but officially began January 1 of 2024. More Christian pastors than I can name affirmed this call to plant a church in North Ogden. Many have been praying for us and still are to this day.

Next, we needed a core group of people that would make up the initial body of the church. We endeavored to have unity around the core doctrines of the Christian faith and a compelling biblical vision for what a healthy church is. In April, we started meeting and teaching through these topics for a good foundation to build on. This included themes like: Theology, Plurality of Elders, Expository Preaching, Membership, etc. We also started to see the practical needs of meeting together like: a place to meet, sound equipment, kids ministry, and we learned how much we love food during fellowship.

God provided every step of the way with the most wonderful people! We used our time, talents and treasure together to keep pressing on toward the goal of becoming a church. Eventually we launched on September 8th of 2024 and our expectations have been exceeded by the overwhelming desire of people around us that are hungry for the Word and want Jesus to be the center of their lives! We’ve been studying the book of Philippians and recently talked about not doing church with pretense but making it our ambition to preach Christ from pure motives. That also means being transparent and preaching the whole counsel of God. We will not water the message down or leave things out in order to people-please.

On October 6th, 2024 we had our sending church vote for our members to be set apart as an independent church. Then, our initial group of members voted in the By-laws and the elders. We took communion for the first time as well. Now we can do this monthly as a church.

You all are my joy and the elders’ joy! It’s finally here. Thank you for being a part of this, whether you’ve been here from the beginning or have joined us along the way, even up to now. You are loved! Thanks for the love and support.”
